The time has come for total time savings. Under such conditions instant products are very popular. One of these products is tea bags . And despite public opinion that such tea is the result of progress, this is not at all true.
According to one version, tea bags were used during the First World War. To the soldiers who were constantly in the trenches, tea bags helped a lot not only to enjoy the taste, but also to maintain morale.
After the war, tea bags began to be produced by R. Seelig & Hille. They not only produced tea, but also developed the first of its kind packaging machine for it. A little later, in 1949, this company worked to accelerate the process of brewing tea and invented a two-chamber tea bag .
There is another version of the arrival of tea bags into our lives . New York tea importer Thomas Sullivan distributed tea samples to his customers. He packed tea at the same time in metal and cardboard boxes.
When calculating it turned out that this method is very expensive. Then the entrepreneur decided to pack tea for customers in silk bags. And then some customers who did not understand Sullivan’s intentions began to make tea directly in the bag.
Although tea bags are more than a century old , they gained their popularity only after the invention of paper, which did not dissolve, but let water through. They were widely used only in the 70s of the twentieth century.
